| COMMENTS: | ClOOCl was generated by laser photolysis of chlorine in the presence of ozone, or by photolysis of ozone in the presence of CF2Cl2, and the absorption spectrum was recorded using a long cell path and spectrograph/diode array detector; resolution of ∼1 nm FWHM Because no measurements of absolute cross sections have been made, the absorbances have been scaled to the peak cross section of 6.4×10-18 cm2 molecule-1 at 245 nm recommended in the JPL-NASA Report, S.P. Sander, R.R. Friedl, D.M. Golden, M.J. Kurylo, G.K. Moortgat, H. Keller-Rudek, P.H. Wine, A.R. Ravishankara, C.E. Kolb, M.J. Molina, B.J. Finlayson-Pitts, R.E. Huie, V.L. Orkin, "Chemical Kinetics and Photochemical Data for Use in Atmospheric Studies. Evaluation Number 15", JPL Publication 06-2, Jet Propulsion Laboratory, Pasadena, 2006 The spectrum could be fitted with two Gaussian-like expressions σ(2Gauss) = 359.5 × exp(-294 [ln(244.1/ λ)]2 + 284.6 × exp(-51.1 [ln(248.5/λ)]2, which gives the cross sections listed for 226-355 nm at 1-nm intervals |
